Thanal is a non-profit organization legally registered in Italy in accordance with Italian regulations. Our mission is to guide and support the Malayali community across Italy towards cultural, social, and collective progress.

Thanal is committed to strengthening meaningful friendships, unity, and mutual support among expatriate Malayalis, fostering a community built on trust, harmony, and shared values.

From the very beginning of our journey, our association has been working in close collaboration with AVIS (Associazione Volontari Italiani del Sangue) and AICS (Associazione Italiana Cultura Sport). Their continuous support, guidance, and shared commitment to voluntary service, social responsibility, and community well-being have been fundamental to our growth. Together, we have promoted blood donation, structured volunteerism, and initiatives centered on human dignity and public health, building a strong foundation of trust and lasting cooperation.

At times, life leads us unexpectedly into the warmth and challenges of expatriate living. Thanal becomes a shelter of comfort and support for every Malayali navigating this journey.

Thanal is a collective built on the care, experience, and goodwill of long-standing expatriates, as well as the energy and hope of newly arrived Malayali friends—a true home of compassion, solidarity, and brotherhood.

It is a space where we join hands to grow together, supporting one another and extending that helping hand to others.

  To promote the positive values of Kerala’s human and cultural heritage and to work collaboratively with government agencies such as NORKA for the progress and welfare of our community.

• Vision

  To build a strong and united Malayali expatriate community, beginning in Italy and eventually expanding across Europe. Thanal envisions nurturing dedicated and talented volunteers in the fields of arts, culture, and healthcare, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the community’s collective growth and well-being.

Although Thanal Association is officially registered and operates primarily within Italy, our initiatives extend beyond geographical boundaries. We actively collaborate with recognized agencies under the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, such as NORKA, to promote advancement in social, cultural, and community-focused initiatives.
Through these partnerships, Thanal strives to support the Malayali diaspora by fostering progress, strengthening connections, and creating meaningful opportunities for the community.
